Local Resident Found Dead
Police Still Searching for Next of Kin

A local resident has been found dead in her one bedroom apartment on Alpine drive. Police were called to the Forrest Hills Apartment complex early Friday morning after an anonymous tip. When no one answered the door police entered the residence and found the deceased lying in her bed.

Police would not comment further on the death, or release a name of the deceased until the next of kin has been contacted.

Forest Hills Death Ruled Suicide
Deceased Identified as Gretta Fowler, aged 38 years_

Police have concluded their investigation into the death of a local resident and have determined the cause of death was a suicide. Gretta Fowler, aged 38, was found dead in her Alpine Drive Apartment Friday. Police reported that Fowler was found lying in her bed with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and an open bottle of sleeping pills on the nightstand.

The detective in charge of the investigation declined further comment except to announce the body would be cremated and buried in accordance with North Carolina State Law
